Rockwell hardness test definitions
Rockwell hardness test is usually used as a production workshop or laboratory "quick test method, mainly is for metal material. But, can also be used for more advanced testing, for example
The jominy test (end quenching test).Due to the use of relatively high load of rockwell hardness testing generally only used for the geometric form larger sample.
Rockwell test calculation method
Can be measured by diamond or formed by tungsten carbide ball indentation depth for rockwell hardness test (HR).
head
Usually, when performing a rockwell hardness test using one of the five different head:
- Diamond cone
- Tungsten ball size (1/16, 1/8, 1/4 "or 1/2")
The main load
Usually, when performing a rockwell hardness test using 6 different main load of 1:
- 15 KGF, 30 KGF, 45 KGF, 60 KGF, 100 KGF or 150 KGF
Rockwell hardness will be divided into 30 different levels. Each of which is composed of various types of pressure head and the main load in different combinations, and each has its applicable particular material or application (for example, HRA, HRB, HRC, HR30N).
